Jacob G Drass (Dress)

Musician, Co D, 192nd Regiment Infantry (12th Pa Militia)

Enlisted in Blair County, Pa and mustered in at Philadelphia 15 Feb 1865,  late in the War, when nine new companies were recruited to report to Middle Military Division, headquartered at Harper's Ferry.
Regiment moved to Shenandoah Valley but the fighting was near an end so they saw no action.  Mustered out with company 24 Aug 1965.

Union Army regulations required every regiment to have at least two musicians.
It is not known if Jacob was a bugler or drummer.

Buried St John's Cemetery, Altoona, PA
Married Alice Flynn about 1860 in Hollidaysburg, Pa  and had nine children.
