Mustered in 27 Nov 1861 at Camp Curtin.   Duty at Annapolis, MD to April 1862.

Moved to Shenandoah Valley - Cedar Mountain, Pope's Campaign in N. Virginia.

Wounded at Thoroughfare Gap, Va  Aug 28, 1862.   Involved in Maryland Campaign Sept 6-24, 1862.   Battle of South Mountain Sept 14.

Wounded at Antietam Sept 17, 1862 

Died at G Hospital, Smoketown, Md of typhoid fever and is buried at Antietam National Cemetery, Section 26, Lot D, site 209.  Rank at death - Sergeant.

Brother of Ezra Rhone who also served in the War.

Born 1843 in Clinton County, PA   Died 20 Nov 1862     Not married.
