After the war, William continued work as a
blacksmith in Westmoreland County,
including the village of Paynesville, named after
him. He and Sarah had nine
children.
Died on 16 May 1898 in Armaugh, Indiana County
Buried in Old McChesneytown Cemetery, Derry
Twp, Westmoreland County PA
